Bill moved to Colchester in 2011 after returning from an active-duty deployment to Afghanistan with the Vermont Army National Guard. And some time after that, he met Alissa — his rock, and a wonderful mom to their 16-year-old son. They married in 2015.
Bill and Alissa both work in Vermont's healthcare system: Alissa as an LNA, and Bill as an Ophthalmic Assistant. Between the two of them, they see, up close, what rising costs and a strained system are doing to Vermont families.
Bill isn't a career politician. He's a husband, a father, a veteran, and a healthcare worker running for Chittenden 20 because he thinks Montpelier needs to hear more from people who live like everyone else in the district does.
These are the things Bill hears about at the door, at work, and around Colchester — the reasons he decided someone needed to run.
Bill's priorities track with the statewide Vermont Promise agenda that Republican legislators and candidates have laid out this year — real relief for Vermont families, and a state government that lives within its means.
Vermonters have absorbed one increase after another. Bill will push to ease the burden on middle- and lower-income households so families keep more of what they earn.
Too many tax dollars are mismanaged before they ever reach the people they're supposed to help. Bill will demand real accountability for how the state budget is built and spent.
Overregulation drives up costs for families and small businesses alike. Bill supports rolling back unnecessary rules, and rethinking mandates that have drifted out of reach of what's realistic — without giving up on protecting Vermont's land and water.
Vermont should be a place new businesses and tech jobs choose, not one they avoid. Bill wants to make the state more competitive so opportunity grows here, including in rural areas that have been overlooked.
Years of underinvestment have left roads and bridges across the state in disrepair. Bill will push to fully fund the transportation budget and get these overdue projects done.
Vermonters deserve to feel safe in their own communities. Bill supports holding repeat and violent offenders accountable, while protecting the rights of law-abiding Vermonters.
No one should fear losing their home because Vermont has grown too expensive. Bill will look for practical ways to bring down housing and healthcare costs so families can afford to stay.
